IS LIVE
The Mento community is transitioning to standalone Governance from Celo. As part of this process, the community has decided to allocate a part of MENTO tokens to active community members who have used Mento stable assets and have contributed to the development of the Mento Platform and the broader Celo ecosystem.

Overcollateralized
Stable Assets
All Mento stable assets (cUSD, cEUR, cREAL, eXOF) that are live on Celo are overcollateralized with 100% backing by other stable assets (USDC, EUROC, DAI) with an additional safety net formed by volatile Mento Reserve assets (BTC, ETH, CELO). This diverse composition of the Mento Reserve offers Mento assets better security than any of the underlying collateral assets on its own.
See the reserveStablecoin Factory
Mento is on its path to becoming THE platform to launch stablecoins. As part of this vision, Mento Labs is working on a toolkit that will enable anyone to deploy a new stablecoin without the need to code and deploy smart contracts. The Mento Platform abstracts away technical complexity, so operators of stablecoins can focus on their economical design and adoption strategy.
On-chain Circuit
Breaker
The Mento Platform has a built-in, on chain and fully automated circuit breaker. This helps to mitigate the risks associated with Oracle dependency, such as manipulation attacks and extreme market volatility. The circuit breaker is fully decentralized and enhances the security and resilience of the Protocol by safeguarding Protocol assets.
Trading Limits
Mento's trading limits are a smart feature designed to enhance the stability and security of the Protocol. They control how much of an asset can be traded within a certain period to protect against market manipulation and volatility. These limits are flexible and can be changed by governance to respond to the market's needs, providing a safeguard that keeps trading fair and stable for everyone.
